I am sitting here this fine, sunny Friday morning in southern Louisiana, clad in my pj’s (which, incidentally, I technically woke up in yesterday morning), and ideas for blogs and blog posts are popping into my head like coins tumbling into a change counting machine!
I haven’t slept in two days, I’ve uploaded three blog postings in the last hour, and I’m not sure I have anything even remotely significant to say (However, I notice it sure is taking a lot of commas to get it out—a writing impediment I’ve retained since high school, when I’d receive my “always feverishly-written-at-the-last-minute” essays back, full of red circles, even though usually marked “A” or “A-minus.”)!
Tuesday, Oct. 1st, 2013. I’ve just noticed it’s 4 am, but instead of rolling over in bed like I should be doing, I’m instead relieved to see I have another 2 hrs. to hunt through the App Store, looking for treasures to download before 6 am (when my Internet service provider squeezes my access down to a pace so slow that I think I could learn to write my own program apps sooner than that little download bar will change from “Installing” to “Open!”)
Monday, Oct. 28, 2013. Well, I’ve been up blogging since sometime yesterday. It’s now, 8 am, and I know I’ve been at it for at least the last 9 hours straight. My cat, Buttons, is waiting patiently for me to go to bed. Tiny (technically, my daughter’s cat) waits for no one.
The Photo Album and Photo Stream on my iPhone have swelled to well over 1,000 photos each, but I can’t seem to get rid of them—even though they’re multiplying at a rate that is astonishing (and alarming to an OCD “App-aholic”). I tried uploading some to my pc, but I don’t get preview icons for some reason, so I don’t know what’s in there right now, which is driving me mad. I even went so far as to take the precaution of making copies of my pics on 3 different flash drives (you know, in case one goes out)! Windows 7 apparently doesn’t think I have a high enough security clearance to view my pictures!. (Vast numbers of them have been swallowed up by these inscrutable—and gaudy—icons!) Rrrrrr!
And I’m obsessed with the fear of losing any pictures when I “synch” them. (translation: “sink” to an OCD type!) (Notice how I’ve begun peppering this paragraph with exclamation points and parentheses and italics?!) (See?!).
Ahhhhhh!
Wednesday, October 31, 2013. At least I think it’s… . (Oh! No! It’s Thursday! See what happens when you are an Insomni-cat?! Er…I mean an insomniac!)
I think I’ve figured out a few things in the world of the blogosphere: (1) which of my posts belong on their own page, and which belong in the scrawling daily (or nightly, or whenever) ramblings Er… contributions; and (2) how to change the status in my iPhone WordPress editing app from “Draft” to “Pending” to “Published!” (I had been confounded by the fact that some posts were uploaded, yet others just wouldn’t go up there into that ethereal realm, and cross over to appear in my online blog!) (3) I’ve also learned a tiny bit of coding!
Now, I just have to figure out how to change out individual pics on a page—some are sized too big of all things! (Check out November’s post by the same title. I figured it out!)
